The incumbent serves as a Supervisor in the Office of Audits, Information Technology Division (AUD/IT), within the Office of Inspector General (OIG), for the U.S.
Department of State (Department).
OIG has statutory oversight responsibility covering the Department and U.S.
Agency for Global Media (USAGM).
AUD/IT is responsible for planning, conducting, supervising, and coordinating IT performance audits of the Department, USAGM, and the International Boundary and Water Commission (USIBWC).

Time-In-Grade Requirements: Federal applicants must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade to satisfy time-in-grade restrictions, per 5CFR 300, Subpart F.nApplicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position.
Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience in interpreting and applying professional accounting/auditing standards to include the Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards and the Federal Information Security Modernization Act (FISMA).nExperience in overseeing and directing operational activities of audit teams and members conducting difficult assignments that typically involve interrelationships between programs, systems, functions, and policies.
Activities include reviewing and evaluating the performance entities assigned functions.nExperience in independently conducting comprehensive audits and evaluations which include the identification and analysis of numerous factors, such as recommending approaches and proposing possible solutions involved in programs, operations and systems.nExperience in leadership and management functions such as balancing workloads and commitments, evaluating audit managers performance, supporting EEO initiatives, hearing and resolving employee complaints and identifying employee professional training needs etc.
In addition, applicant's experience must also demonstrate that the candidate possesses the following qualities: Ability to assign, review, and supervise the work of others;nObjectivity and fairness in judging people on their ability, and situations on the facts and circumstances;nAbility to adjust to change, work pressures, or difficult situations without undue stress;nWillingness to consider new ideas or divergent points of view; andnCapacity to "see the job through." There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-14 position.
