About the Position: Incumbent, as an Emergency Services Dispatcher, provides emergency police, fire, and medical services to the public by answering emergency 911 calls and responding with appropriate personnel and equipment.

Works under the general supervision of the Branch Chief, who provides instruction for duties and responsibilities both orally and in writing.

Additional Conditions of Employment: DoD Hazardous Materials Awareness, ICS IS100/144/200/700, Criminal Justice Information System, National Crime Information Center (NCIC), and Oklahoma Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (OLETS), First-Aid and CPR.

Incumbent must possess and maintain the following certifications: DoD Telecommunicator I/II, Emergency Telecommunicator Course (ETC), International Academy of Emergency Dispatch (IAED), Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS), The incumbent is responsible for attaining Fire Alarm Monitoring and Intrusion Detection education requirements through in service training that is offered locally.

This position requires Temporary Duty (TDY) up to 5%.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Dispatch emergency personnel (police, fire, medical, hazmat, rescue, etc) as necessary; 2) Obtain pertinent information from callers to ascertain the nature of their emergency or request for assistance; 3) Provide clear and precise instructions to callers in high stress conditions; 4) Utilize dispatching and/or law enforcement communication systems.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Criminal Justice or Law Enforcement.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12.

Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18.

Add the two percentages.
