United States Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Marketing Service, Dairy Programs Federal Milk Market Administrator falls under the Excepted Service.

This position will be filled in the 5101 Auditor series.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below.

Basic Requirement:nHave bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, mathematics, dairy or food science, or agricultural economics with at least 9 semester hours in accounting.nORnHave a bachelor's degree in any other field with at least 15 semester hours in accounting.

Semester hours in investigative or research courses may be substituted for accounting.nORnIf you do not have a college degree, you must have the appropriate semester or quarter hours described above, and audit or accounting experience that, when combined with education, would equal a 4-year course of study.

Professional Experience Qualification Requirements:nIn addition to the above-stated basic requirement, in order to qualify at the MA-13 payband and above, applicants must have had either professional experience or graduate education.

The candidate must have six months of professional experience for each grade from MA-13 in a field directly related to the position to be filled.

This experience or education must have equipped the candidate with the necessary knowledge and ability to fully perform the work of the position being filled.

Required professional experience is as follows: (1) Providing systematic examination and appraisal of production, sales, inventory, and financial records to determine the accuracy of reported data; (2) Assisting with the preparation of work papers and related documentation to support audit findings and conclusions; (3) Utilizing financial reporting systems and accounting procedures to conduct on-site audits; AND (4) Documenting audit findings and recommendations for usage in final audit report.nORnMust have half a year of full-time graduate education in accounting, finance, mathematics, dairy or food science, or agricultural economics with at least 9 semester hours in accounting.

Part-time or unpaid experience: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.

You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

Volunteer or unpaid experience: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
