This position is located in the Office of Environmental Health and Engineering, Division of Environmental Health Services, within the Great Plains Area Indian Health Service, Sioux City District Office.

The purpose of this position is to provide overall management, supervision and leadership for the Environmental Health Program within the Sioux City District.

To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience.

You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

BASIC REQUIREMENT(S):nOPM Link: https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/0600/general-health-science-series-0601/ In addition, to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:nGS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: developing, evaluating, and advising on programs designed to prevent and eliminate environmental health hazards; analyzing substances to determine contamination or the presence of disease, or resolving environmental health problems through collection, tabulation, and evaluation of environmental sanitation data; development and implementation of plans to eliminate or control environmental health hazards.

SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR: Professional knowledge of the theories, principles, practices and techniques of Environmental Health as evidence by a professional registration through a recognized organization or state as an Environmental Health Specialist (REHS) or Registered Sanitarian (RS).
