This position is located in the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Office of Marine and Aviation Operations (OMAO), Aircraft Operations Center (AOC) with two vacancies in Lakeland, FL.nThis position is also announced under vacancy number OMAO-AOC-2022-0021, which is open to all US Citizens or Nationals.

(Continued from the Requirements section)nCONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: FAA Airframe and Powerplant rating.nFAA Inspection Authorization rating.nTen years' general experience as an Aircraft Maintenance Technician.nFive years' experience on the assigned primary aircraft.nTwo years' experience working AOC aircraft types (other than primary assigned aircraft).nFive years' experience with the requisition, acquisition and inventory of aircraft parts, supplies and services.nTravel (away from Lakeland) for indefinite periods as required by the needs of the Aircraft Maintenance Branch and/or the Aircraft Operations Center.nValid State Driver's License.

QUALITY RANKING FACTOR:nApplicants will receive additional weight on their overall rating if they possess the additional experience and certification(s) below: (Failure to provide proof of the below with your application may result in the removal of the additional weight to your overall rating.) Possessing a current and valid Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant rating.nPossessing a current and valid FAA Inspection Authorization rating.

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.

This experience need not have been in the federal government.Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.To qualify at the GS-11 level:SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to theGS-10in the Federal service.

Specialized experience MUST include all of the following: Participating in inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing and/or performing preventive maintenance on King Air Series 300 and/or DHC-6-300 aircraft;nAssisting in monitoring completion and quality control of maintenance performed on aircraft; andnAssisting in determining suitability and certifying the airworthiness of aircraft.

To qualify at the GS-12 level:SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to theGS-11in the Federal service.

Specialized experience MUST include all of the following: Providing technical guidance and/or direction to an aircraft maintenance staff and ensuring compliance with operational requirements and procedures;nAssisting in scheduling and verifying King Air Series 300 and/or DHC-6-300 aircraft inspections and follow-up maintenance and/or repairs;nParticipating in performing preventive maintenance and quality assurance activities for King Air Series 300 and/or DHC-6-300 aircraft; andnAssisting in developing and/or modifying aircraft maintenance operating procedures and practices.
