THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

This National Guard position is for a POLICE OFFICER, Position Description Number D2155000 and is part of the ID 124 Security Force Squadron, National Guard.

THIS POSITION IS OPEN TO CURRENT MEMBERS OF THE IDAHO AIR NATIONAL GUARD OR THOSE ELIGIBLE FOR MEMBERSHIP .

THIS POSITION IS PERMANENT.

THIS POSITION MAY OFFER A RECRUITMENT OR RETENTION INCENTIVE.

Military Grades: E-1 through E-7 or the ability to obtain.nIf selected, the applicant must be able to meet Air National Guard accession requirements in 90 days.

Compatible Military Assignments: AFSC 3P0X1 or the ability to obtain.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE:nThis position is located in the Air National Guard Wing, Force Support Group, Security Forces Squadron.

The primary purpose of this GS-0083, Police Work, is to lead, manage, and perform security force (SF) activities in direct support of the United States Nuclear Enterprise; weapon systems and physical security; law and order; military working dog; combat arms; and area security operations.

The work directs the control and operations of firing ranges; and, inspects, repairs, and maintains ground weapons.

It enforces laws, maintains law and order, preserves the peace, and protects life and civil rights within the jurisdiction of military installations.

A National Guard Title 32 Dual Status applicant must have a validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade.

For entry appointment to the GS-06 position, the applicant requires the completion of high school or general educational development equivalency; along with the successful completion of an equivalent military security or police training course.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Should have knowledge of practical security force (SF) activities in direct support of the military weapon systems and physical security; law and order; or area security operations.

May have work experiences in law enforcement, maintaining law and order, preserving the peace, and protecting life and civil rights within the jurisdiction of civilian/public areas or military installations.

May have experiences in protecting federal property from hazards such as sabotage, espionage, trespass, theft, fire, and accident or willful damage and destruction.

May have experiences in responding to disaster and relief operations and participates in contingencies.
