Electrical / Radio Frequency Engineering Specialist, Volgenau School of Engineering The George Mason University Volgenau School of Engineering seeks an Electrical Engineer with Radio Frequency (RF) communications specialization.
This position will support an OSD research project that focuses on RF networking architectures for air, ground, space, and surface platform communications.

Responsibilities: * Perform link analysis budgets between various RF components in a networking architecture including SATCOM, Line of Sight (LOS), and Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS); * Identify, consolidate and coordinate RF networking requirements from various subcontractors / participants regarding air, ground, and surface communications networking architectures; * Act as primary subject matter expert in RF Communication, including specifications and architectures to support complex RF and Antenna systems; * Conduct and document link budgets analysis for SATCOM and other RF systems; Required Qualifications: * United States citizen capable of attaining a United States Secret clearance; * Demonstrated related experience that includes: ** Satellite & RF communications / Cellular communications systems / Modern wireless protocols ** Radio Frequency (RF) system design ** Modern modulation schemes * Strong MS Office skills.

; * Proficient oral and written communications skills to ensure high quality presentations and reports; * Ability to work in a cross discipline, integrated product team environment.
Preferred Qualifications: * United States citizen with Secret clearance; * Demonstrated related experience that includes: ** Satellite & RF communications / Cellular communications systems / Modern wireless protocols ** Radio Frequency (RF) system design ** Modern modulation schemes * Previous military experience; * Relevant Engineering Degree (BS) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
The position is a part-time, hourly wage position.
The position may require travel within the United States to support program objectives.
The position can be performed from off campus with approval from the Principal Investigator.
This part-time position will report directly to the Principal Investigator, Research Professor Bill Roeting.
Salary contingent upon qualifications and experience.
The anticipated start date is expected to be October 1, 2018; or as soon as possible thereafter.
