The primary purpose of this position is to provide a student trainee who has been appointed to an intern program with on-the-job training and guidance to further student technical development.

This positions will fill all positions for GS-1199, (Student Trainee) with all parentheticals In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Group Coverage Qualification Standard for Competitive Service Student Trainee Positions QUALIFICATIONS FOR:nGS-04: Must have completed 2 full academic years of post-high school study or an associate's degree.nGS-05: Must have completed 4 academic years of post-high school leading to a bachelor's degree or equivalent degree.nGS-07: Must have completed 1 full academic year of graduate level education; or Eligibility under the Superior Academic Achievement Provision and completion of a bachelor's degree.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of basic occupational theory, principles, concepts, and practices in the technical area of Program Management.

Skill in applying basic occupational theory, principles, concepts, and practices sufficient to perform student trainee assignments.

Ability to follow instructions and guidance to complete assigned tasks and communicate information to others in oral or written format.

Ability to analyze problems, identify significant factors, gather and interpret pertinent data, and apply established rules and procedures in order to recommend effective solutions.

Ability to learn and apply basic investigative techniques to accomplish work in the subject-matter field.

Ability to gather and analyze basic facts, information, and data, and draw conclusions.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.

You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
