Job Summary Learn to Swim Coordinators assist with the organization and supervision of the Aquatic Education and Learn-to-Swim programs.

This includes assisting with development and training of LTS Instructor staff, evaluating staff, hiring of new LTS staff, teaching group, private, and semi-private lessons as needed, assisting Assistant Director of Aquatics Education and Programs in program development.

  Essential Functions: Program Coordination & Management Staff Development Office Administration   Required Qualifications: Valid American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) Certification One or more semesters of experience as a Learn to Swim Instructor for Purdue Recreation & Wellness.

Core Competencies Students employed in this role will develop and demonstrate a number of transferable skills essential for future employment success.  Key skills and responsibilities associated with this position include: Cognitive Reasoning Assist with planning and supervision of Learn-to-Swim Program, in-services, and meetings Assist with marketing of all Learn-to-Swim and Aquatic Education Programs Assist with pairing instructors with private and semi-private lesson participants Maintain certifications and participate in job performance reviews Independence/Interdependence Coordinate all equipment set-up and clean-up Ensure all schedules and folders are up-to-date Dedicate to the success of the Aquatic Education and Learn-to-Swim programs Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director Communication Communicate effectively and efficiently with the Coordinator of Aquatic Education and Programming, other LTS Coordinators, other instructors, and participants Act as a resource to participants by being familiar with other programs and services Be responsible and mature in dealing with participants and instructors Leadership Act as an ambassador of the Aquatic Education Program and Recreation & Wellness by being professional, visible, and friendly Assist with evaluation of instructors and programs Act as a resource to Recreation & Wellness by obtaining participant feedback and providing input on programs and services Appreciation of Differences Enjoy working with both youth and adults Be positive, enthusiastic, friendly, outgoing, and creative Compensation Data Starting Pay Rate: $11.00/hour Job Family Non StaffJob Sub Family Undergraduate StudentsEmployee Class StudentCareer Stream Undergraduate 3Benefits Eligibility NOEducation 0Experience 0FLSA Status Non-Exempt
