Summary Job Description:   The Senior Marketing Communications Specialist assists the Network Services Associate Director of Communications in leading and coordinating the implementation of various marketing communications in support of the communications strategy for Network Services.  The Specialist will be responsible for managing brand adherence and review of any marketing materials using the Duke Brand.

    The Specialist will assist the Associate Director in leading the integration of marketing and branding efforts within Network Services to support and protect the Duke brand (as outlined and administered by DUHS Marketing), as well as maintain relationships with internal and external resources to review and approve planned marketing materials.

  Key Duties and Responsibilities:   Demonstrate understanding of the scope, purpose and services provided through Network Services affiliates, business development, Duke LifePoint and telehealth office such that the Specialist can represent and protect the Duke brand when licensed through Network Services Develop, edit and maintain the DNS external website and internal DNS intranet site Assist the Associate Director as the Duke resource for the Duke LifePoint website; collaborate with LifePoint on all aspects of appropriate use of the Duke Brand Manage brand adherence for Network Services including review, edit and approval of branding and marketing collateral and activities, including but not limited to: Assisting the Associate Director in development, monitoring and revising of the review and approval workflow process for efficiency and accuracy Ensuring the accuracy, timeliness and completeness of Duke reviews including description of Duke relationship, use of Duke brand, spelling, grammar, clinical accuracy, etc.

in accordance with Duke standards Developing, monitoring and regularly reporting monthly process improvement initiatives including database to track volume and corrections associated with Duke LifePoint, LifePoint and specialty affiliate site market collateral review requests   Provide marketing, communication and public relations support for Network Services, affiliates and Duke LifePoint special events and initiatives  At times may be required to participate in Network Services committees Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein   Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:   High-quality writing and editing, specifically developing creative, concise, easy-to-understand content Experience critiquing creative work (including advertisements, brochures, websites), with proven ability to review and edit for brand adherence, overall quality and to prevent over promising, or inclusion of language inconsistent with the image and values of Duke Health Proficiency with content management systems; experience with SharePoint strongly preferred Experience with email marketing relative to internal and external newsletters Strong working knowledge of branding fundamentals and design principles Ability to work on cross-functional teams and strong collaborative skills Knowledge or experience in healthcare desired Ability to work in a fast moving environment and multi-tasking with multiple organizations Ability to travel in support of new business and established affiliated sites (regional and national travel will be required)   Required Qualifications:   Education:   Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, English, Business or related field is required.

Experience:   Two years of directly related experience is required; 3-5 years preferred.

  Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong writing skills, understanding and ability to interface with websites, social media tools and other technologies, understanding of advertising and principles of marketing.

Strong communication skills (written and verbal) Trend analysis Customer Service Distinguishing Characteristics of this Level N/A   Performance Measurement: This position will be reviewed annually based on performance against a set of goals and objectives developed in alignment with DUHS and functional strategies.
