This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to do the work of Electric Power Controller without more than normal supervision performing duties such as: 1) Operating various electrical power generating equipment (i.e., alternators, DC generators and control circuits, voltage controls, battery backup system, switchgear, and transformers); 2) Assist with operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing diesel and gasoline engines ranging from 3 cylinders to 16 cylinders per engine ranging from 40 H.P.

to 1300 H.P.; 3) Assist with installing, testing, repairing and maintaining generators, transformers, converters, motors and associated equipment (i.e., circuit breakers, indicating and recording instruments, power and control cables and relays); 4) Utilizing trade mathematics to calculate the amount of resistive and reactive loads, and phase relations of loads to identify unbalanced low efficiency loads, circulating current, or undesirable conditions.
