This public notice may be used to fill target grades (e.g.

GS-03 Target GS-06).

However, there may be positions with promotion potential above the GS-06 or equivalent.

The salary range indicated in this announcement will be adjusted to include locality payment for selected duty location.

General schedule locality pay table may be found under, https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/pay-leave/salaries-wages/ In order to qualify, you must meet requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Group Coverage Qualification Standard for Competitive Service Student Trainee Positions.

GS-03: Completion of one full academic year of post-high school study.nGS-04: Completion of two academic years of post-high school study or associate's degreenGS-05: Completion of four academic years of post-high school leading to a bachelor's degree or equivalent degree.nGS-06: Completion of one full academic year of graduate level education.

Knowledge of various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of documents, such as letters, reports, spreadsheets, databases, and graphs.n2.

Knowledge of correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and format to accurately prepare and edit written correspondence and reports.n3.

Knowledge of rules, procedures, or operations applied to clerical assignment to perform the routine, procedural work of the office, such as preparing and editing documents, maintaining files/records, making and preparing travel arrangements, screening telephone calls and visitors, processing mail, planning, organizing, and carrying out assignments and composing routine, nontechnical information for recurring reports and inquiries.n4.

Knowledge of filing systems and procedures and the subject matter content of the materials being processed.n5.

Skill in typing; a qualified typist is required.n6.

Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, using tact and courtesy.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.

You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
