The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to do the work of an Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanic with no more than normal supervision performing: 1.

Knowledge of all materials used in a given line of work.

Examples include Selecting proper material for each particular purpose.

Knowledge of special properties, treatments needed, etc., of materials used.

Ability to do the theoretical, precise, and/or artistic work applies to skilled and semi-skilled occupations.

SKILLED - use knowledge of trade theory and up-to-date trade practices.

Skilled examples: Fabricate tools/fixtures/gages with critical dimensions.

Use arithmetic/trade math for computations.

Construct new, one-of-a-kind items.

Invent new methods.

Special/decorative effects.

Plan/layout/set up operations.

Ability to work independently, make decisions, plan operations, show job responsibility, and exercise initiative.

Ability to find trouble, determine method of repair, and use appropriate tests.

Examples include Diagnosing and determining remedy using a variety of instruments.

Finding major leak in piping, or cold vacuum tube, or missing machine part, etc.

Inspection and trial runs of mechanical equipment, or simple test of electrical equipment, etc.

where damage is likely if trouble is not located.

Locating trouble through knowledge of complex relationships of parts of a mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic system.
