**Adjunct Faculty in Landscape Architecture Design**

The School of Architecture seeks an artist, and/or scholar with experience to co-lead a summer travel field course (ARCH 580). Ideal candidates should have a strong investment and track record (i.e. expertise) in field practices and American landscapes (built, natural, artistic, vernacular, industrial) in the continental west, in particular. The class examines how various existing landscape are “framed” by a broad range of devices, intentional and implicit and considers how these framings can be intentionally fashioned. The class is multi-disciplinary and will be co-taught with a landscape architect. The candidate must be willing to co-lead (and drive) students on an approximately ten day road trip across the American West, including camping a large portion of the time.

USC reserves the “Adjunct” appointment for faculty teaching less than full-time at USC, who are employed full-time in a primary profession or career elsewhere. Adjunct faculty typically teach only one course per year but, in exceptional cases, may teach one course per semester, if approved by the dean.

**Requirements**

Candidates should have at least one professional degree in Art , preferably an arts associated Masters or PhD.  The program is looking for candidates with a strong research/arts agenda, experience teaching, and strong academic integrity. While global considerations are encouraged, primary geographies of focus should be accessible within COVID limits and guidelines.

The position is a Summer appointment.
