This position is located in the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Office of Marine and Aviation Operations (OMAO), Aircraft Operations Center (AOC), Aircraft Maintenance Branch, Heavy Aircraft Section, with one in vacancy in Lakeland, FL.nThis position is also announced under vacancy number OMAO-AOC-2022-0015, which is open to all US Citizens or Nationals.

(Continued from the Requirements section)nCONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) rating.(GS-11 and GS-12)nFive years - general experience as an Aircraft Maintenance Technician desired.(GS-11 and GS-12)nThree years - experience on the assigned primary aircraft desired.(GS-11 and GS-12)nTwo years - experience working AOC aircraft types (other than primary assigned aircraft) desired.(GS-12 Only)nThree years - experience with requisition, acquisition and inventory of aircraft parts desired.(GS-11 Only)nFive years - experience with requisition, acquisition and inventory of aircraft parts desired.

(GS-12 Only)nExperience on the Rolls-Royce BR700 series engine desired.(GS-11 and GS-12)nExperience on the RE 220 Honeywell Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) desired.(GS-11 and GS-12)nExperience using synoptic pages desired.(GS-11 and GS-12)nExperience with the Maintenance Steering Group (MSG) 3 maintenance program desired.(GS-11 and GS-12)nFAA A&P license (desired Inspection Authorization (IA) within 12 months of hiring).(GS-11 and GS-12)nTravel (away from Lakeland) for indefinite periods as required by the needs of the Aircraft Maintenance Branch and/or Aircraft Operations Center.(GS-11 and GS-12)nMust be able to obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license to operate a government vehicle in completion of assigned tasks i.e.

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.

This experience need not have been in the federal government.Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.To qualify at the GS-11 level:SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-10in the Federal service.

Specialized experience MUST include all of the following: Participating in inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing and performing preventive maintenance on Gulfstream aircraft(s);nAssisting in monitoring completion and quality control of maintenance performed on aircraft; andnAssisting in determining suitability and certifying the airworthiness of aircraft.

To qualify at the GS-12 level: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to theGS-11in the Federal service.

Specialized experience MUST include all of the following: Providing technical guidance and/or direction to an aircraft maintenance staff and ensuring compliance with operational requirements and procedures;nAssisting in scheduling and verifying aircraft inspections and follow-up maintenance and/or repairs;nParticipating in performing preventive maintenance and quality assurance activities for Gulfstream aircraft(s); andnAssisting in developing and/or modifying aircraft maintenance operating procedures and practices.
