Staff Engineer System Design designs, integrates, and tests software applications for Robotics systems focused on clinical function integration and data management.

Specifies precise new product functional requirements; designs, tests and integrates components to produce final designs; and evaluates the design's overall effectiveness, cost, reliability, and safety.

This is an individual contributor role that requires the use of judgment in applying professional expertise and is expected to work independently with minimal supervision.Design, integrate, and test software applications for Robotics systems focused on clinical function integration and data management.Develop precise product functional and performance requirements through system analysis methodologies that incorporate necessary security and privacy standards for networked medical devices.Evaluate the design's overall effectiveness, including, reliability, security, and safety.Work with System Architect in developing the system architecture for clinical and network featuresModels systems behavior to drive requirement definition and refinement and to help with architectural decisionsDevelop the decomposition of design input requirements into detailed subsystem requirements.Provides links between design inputs, architectural components, and subsystem requirements, to ensure the design goals are correctly implemented.Works with System Architect and Lead System Designer to develop design prototypesWorks with fellow Design Engineers and System Architect to integrate features of Robotics system with Strykers cloud-based applicationsExecutes and document exploratory testing for completeness of feature functionalitiesWorks with software and hardware engineering teams to provide feedback on design implementation and test resultsDevelops documentation to support feature development as required by the Quality system, Program Management, and other stakeholdersWorks with operation team to develop design transfer plan and documentation for production readiness of data solution featuresProvide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members What you need:A Bachelor's degree in system engineering, biomedical engineering, or related discipline.

Advanced degree is preferred.Minimum of 7+ years of experience as a System Analyst or an SW product owner in a security-centric regulated software development environment.Must possess an understanding of network security principles and data privacy rules as applied in a regulated industry.
