Open-Rank Adjunct Professor of Animation and Digital Arts –Character Design & Animation

The USC’s School of Cinematic Arts, John C. Hench Division of Animation and Digital Arts is seeking applicants for an open-rank adjunct faculty position at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level, dependent upon experience to teach a course in character design with a strong emphasis on how design serves story. We are looking for an experienced industry professional who has worked on major theatrical releases and is savvy in both 2D and 3D animation techniques.  The candidate should have contemporary sense of aesthetics, a working knowledge of how to integrate good character designs with visual storytelling and a solid understanding of current industry production standards.  Please submit a CV and current professional reel of work.

Minimum Education:   BFA degree in animation or visual arts

Minimum Experience:  At least 4 years of professional animation and visual effects experience working on major film projects in a creative role.

Preferred Education:  MFA degree in animation or visual arts 

Preferred Experience: At least 8 years professional animation and visual effects experience working on major film projects in a creative role.  In addition to teaching experience, 2D and 3D concept design would be preferable.
