This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job.

Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to do the work of an Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanic without more than normal supervision performing duties such as 1) Installing, repairing, maintaining, troubleshooting, a variety of systems components such as compressors, which include gear, reciprocating, centrifugal, or rotary pump and a variety of refrigerant controls such as those with low and high pressure side floats, automatic thermostatic expansion valves, capillary or choke types, and those base on volume or quantity changes;n2) Examining, diagnosing malfunctions and making repairs to systems that include analog and direct digital control (DDC) systems used in complex heating ventilation; air conditioning, and refrigeration systems; andn3) Follows all guidelines and procedures pertaining to the use and handling of refrigerants in accordance with all local, state and federal regulations).

I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
