Job Summary Learn to Swim Instructor Aides are responsible for teaching adult and youth swimming lessons for the American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim Program.
This can include Group Lessons with another certified swim instructor, Private Swim Lessons, and/or Semi-Private Lessons.
Primary duties include writing lesson plans, teaching area set-up/clean-up, and the delivery of a high-quality, educational swim-lesson experience to all participants.
Swim instructor Aides will assist in teaching group lessons with a certified LTS instructor and can individually teach private lessons.
Essential Functions: Teaching & Instruction Aquatic Education Course Development Required Qualifications: 1-3 years’ experience teaching swim lessons Successful completion of swim skills evaluation conducted by the Coordinator of Aquatic Education and Programming and/or a Learn to Swim Program Coordinator(s) Must be willing to complete the Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification Course within 6 months of hire.
