This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job.

The Screen-out Element for this position is the ABILITY TO PERFORM THE WORK OF A FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEM MECHANIC WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION AS DEMONSTRATED by: 1) Installs and assists in the repair of fire suppression systems in compliance with fire codes and manufacturer requirements; 2) Identifies pipefitting, plumbing and/or electrical issues during the repair, installation and maintenance of fire systems and associated components/ devices; and 3) Installs, repairs and assures proper operation of various types of pressure switches activated by water or foam.
