Director of Enrollment and Student Engagement - Office of Student Affairs The George Mason University, College of Health and Human Services (CHHS), Office of Student Affairs (OSA) invites applications for a Director of Enrollment and Student Engagement.

About the Department: The College of Health and Human Services (CHHS) Office of Student Affairs (OSA) is responsible for enhancing and strengthening all aspects of the student experience in the College (pre-admission through graduation).

The Office is the primary physical space to welcome current and prospective students and other visitors to the college, and provides guidance and support to students through recruitment, admissions, advising, assessment, and student engagement.

Purpose of the Position: The Director of Enrollment and Student Engagement is responsible for managing undergraduate and graduate recruitment and admissions for students in all CHHS programs.

The Director of Enrollment and Student Engagement supervises a team of full-time, professional recruitment and admissions professionals, develops strategic recruitment plans in partnership with CHHS departments, develops intentional approaches to recruiting and engaging students from underrepresented backgrounds, and identifies opportunities to foster student engagement with the College.

The Director of Enrollment and Student Engagement reports to the Associate Dean for Student Affairs.

Responsibilities: Staff Development: * Onboard, train, and supervise a team of full-time, professionals in CHHS undergraduate and graduate admissions; * Lead regular admissions meetings for CHHS admissions staff and others with admissions responsibilities in the College; * Collaborate with Central offices (Undergraduate and Graduate Admissions, Academic Innovation and New Ventures, Provost’s Office, Registrar, New Student and Family Programs) to ensure alignment in policies, processes, and communications; * Identify and support ongoing professional development opportunities for CHHS Admissions staff.

Enrollment/Admissions: * Create, coordinate, implement, and evaluate undergraduate and graduate recruitment strategies at the College and program level, with Department chairs, central Admissions, and CHHS Marketing & Communications; * Develop communications plans for prospective and admitted undergraduate students through email, social media, and in-person engagement, and assess effectiveness of communication strategies; * Identify opportunities to leverage college resources and scholarships to recruit and retain students; * Support the Associate Dean for Student Affairs, Executive Director of Administration and Budget, and Department Chairs in the development of strategic enrollment targets; * Develop strategies to recruit and retain a diverse pool of undergraduate and graduate students (e.g., underrepresented minorities, first-generation students, International students, students with financial needs, veterans); * Collaborate with faculty in the School of Nursing to determine BSN admission criteria and application review processes; * Identify and implement process improvements to ensure timely reviews and decisions for undergraduate Nursing applications; * Assist CHHS departments with the development of new pathways for undergraduate admission (e.g., Veterans' LPN to BSN program, online programs, ADVANCE); * Assess and implement technologies utilized for recruitment and application review; * Develop recruitment strategies in new modalities (e.g., web marketing).

Student Engagement: * Identify opportunities for increased undergraduate and graduate student engagement in CHHS through programming, communications, and other co-curricular activities; * Support recruitment and orientation activities for undergraduate and graduate students; * Provide guidance in planning major student-centered events including Awards Ceremony, Degree Celebration, and Graduation Reception; * Support the development and implementation of Living and Learning Communities (LLCs) and UNIV transition courses connected to CHHS majors; * Connect current and prospective students with partner offices to ensure engagement in research, study abroad and entrepreneurship.

Assessment: * Develop measures of engagement with prospective and current students; * Track and report prospective and admitted student profiles to share with CHHS Leadership team, departments, and other stakeholders; * Prepare admissions data for accreditation reports in collaboration with the CHHS Data Analyst and the Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Planning (OIEP); * Assess the effectiveness of undergraduate and graduate recruitment efforts.

Qualifications: Required: * Knowledge of enrollment management and undergraduate and graduate admissions processes; * Five years of postsecondary admissions experience (undergraduate or graduate level); * Supervisory experience; * Accredited master’s degree in Education, Student Affairs, or Health and Human Services discipline (Public Health, Social Work, Health Administration, Nutrition, Nursing, Rehabilitation Science); * Excellent oral and written communication skills; * Experience developing and managing diversity outreach efforts; * Ability to multi-task and prioritize competing demands; * Demonstrated proficiency in office IT software (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook); * Ability to use data to inform plans for recruitment and student engagement; * Knowledge of admissions and student information systems (e.g., Target X, Salesforce, Banner, Microstrategy).

Preferred: * Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively to develop and implement innovative or new approaches to admissions and student engagement; * Familiarity with university and federal policies and processes related to financial aid, student data, and admissions; * Track record of supporting staff development; * Experience working with faculty in an academic college.
