This position is located in the Albuquerque Indian Health Service Dental Clinic (AIDC), with the Albuquerque Area Office in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
The dental clinic provides direct dental care to urban Native American and Alaskan Natives.
The position, in consultation with management, establishes procedures, assures quality control, and systematically provisions various medical supply area assignments in a dental clinic requiring a complete range of medical supply, instruments and equipment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:nSpecialized Experience (for positions at GS-4 and above): Experience in processing, assembling, trouble-shooting, preparing, sterilizing, storing, and issuing sterile and unsterile medical supplies and equipment.
The applicant must possess knowledge of the technical names, general uses, physical characteristics, and operating conditions of medical supply items; knowledge of decontamination, cleaning, preparation, sterilization, and storage procedures; knowledge of aseptic techniques; and skill in operating a washer-sterilizer, ultrasonic instrument cleaners, and gas and steam sterilizers.
Examples of qualifying specialized experience include work as an operating room technician, medical instrument technician, nursing assistant, corpsman, or laboratory worker.
GS-05: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience that demonstrate particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position.
This experience is related to the work of the position and equivalent to at least the GS-04 level in the Federal service as described in the vacancy announcement.
Examples include: Decontamination, preparation, package, sterilization, storage, order, distribution of patient care supplies, recordkeeping, adherence to policies pertaining to central supply processing, infection control, and sterilization methods.
OR Successfully completed a 4 year course of study above high school leading to a bachelor's degree with course related to the position.
OR Possess a combination of specialized experience and education post high school with courses related to the occupation that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.

Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level.
Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
