This position is part of the Appraisal and Valuation Services Office, Office of the Secretary of Interior.

The incumbent will be responsible for appraisals and appraisal reviews within the delegated approval authority as prescribed by the Chief Appraiser in AVSO.

***New Special Rate Salaries for the 1171 occupational series effective 06/05/22.*** At the GS-12 Level, you must meet the following qualification:nOne year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level.

Specialized experience is that which has equipped the applicant with the competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled.

Specialized experience for this position includes but is not limited to: Preparing appraisals of real property, providing appraisal consultation services to clients, estimating the market value of properties, and applying federal, state, and local land and land-title laws to carry out appraisal assignments.

Applicants must provide proof of a current Certified General Real Property Appraiser credential from a State.

This position contains a selective placement factor (SPF) that is part of the minimum requirement of the position.

If you do not meet the SPF, you are ineligible for further consideration.

The SPF for this position is: Possess a current Certified General Real Property Appraiser Certification in at least one state whose certification standards comply with the minimum Federal standards for general appraiser certification in compliance with Title XI of the Financial Institution Reform, Recovery, and Enforcement Act of 1989 (FIRREA).

You must provide a copy of your current certificate with your application in order to be considered.

Only experience and education obtained by the closing date of this announcement will be considered.

A written test is not required.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
