This position is located with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Midwest Region, BIA-Minnesota Agency, Office of the Superintendent in Bemidji, Minnesota.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: (OPM Operating Manual, Qualification Standards for Administrative and Management Positions, GS-0340).
GS-14 I have at least 1 year of full-time specialized experience or the equivalent, comparable to at least the GS-13 in the Federal Service (obtained in either the public or private sector).
This experience must include the responsibility of the organization, mission, and objectives of BIA to carry out the management functions as a Superintendent; administer public laws, rules and regulation requirements, and court rulings relative to Indian affairs; carry out the functions of Indian tribal trust resources and other Indian resources, Natural Resources and to comply with performance goals and to assess the progress toward attainment of those goals; supervise, monitor and regulate employees in their performance of assigned or delegated tasks, and interpersonal skills.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position, and is typically in or related to the position to be filled.
This is a key management position.
Simply meeting time-in-grade in occupations where directing and managing Indian trust responsibilities and programs was not performed, will not be qualifying.
