This position is located with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Rocky Mountain Region in Billings, Montana.

This is an open continuous job announcement.

Initial application packages will be reviewed for eligibility and qualifications and issued to management on or about 22-MAR-2021.

Additional application packages will be reviewed and issued to management on an as needed basis.

GS-5: 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-4 grade level OR 4 years of successfully completed education above the high school level.

Examples of specialized experience are, but not limited to; analyze and exam titles, preparing chains of title, title status reports.

Scan and code title documents.

Correct less complex title documents.

All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

GS-6: 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 grade level.

Examples of specialized experience are, but not limited to; routine examining of complex titles, preparing chains of title, title status reports, and maintaining the accuracy of computerized systems.

Preparing documents, using office software programs to retrieve and sort information file or records, receiving and examining applications for completeness of information.

GS-7: 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-6 grade level.

Examples of specialized experience are, but not limited to; analyzing and examining difficult and complex titles, preparing chains of title, title status reports, and maintaining the accuracy of computerized systems.

Receiving and processing permit applications, examining applications for completeness of information, adequacy of supporting documentation and certifications, ensuring applications meet regulatory requirements for requested permit types, and maintaining office permit files.

Issue certified titled documents and ensure of accurate documents.

GS-8: 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 grade level.

Examples of specialized experience are, but not limited to; analyzing and examining of extremely difficult, complex and or controversial titles, preparing chains of title, title status reports, and maintaining the upmost accuracy of computerized systems.

Receiving and processing permit applications, examining applications for completeness of information, adequacy of supporting documentation and certifications, ensuring applications meet regulatory requirement for requested permit types, maintaining office permit files, and interpreting regulations and policy.

Independently plans, organizes, conducts research and analyzes of legal documents.

Examines and corrects extremely complex title documents for real property pertaining to trust, restricted, fee, reserved lands, title information from title companies.

Prepare legal notices of decisions to be given to affected individuals.

Advise the Realty Specialist in the preparation of various forms of title as they relate to the acceptance of title.

Make determinations in situations where no guidance or precedence exists.

All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

Merit Promotion candidates must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the announcement closing date.
