This position is being announced under FEMA's Cadre of On-call Response/Recovery Employee (CORE) Program.
Thisis a temporary appointment in the Excepted Service, not to exceed 2 years, with the option to extend based on workload and funding availability.

The qualification requirements listed below must be met within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.nYou qualify for this position at the IC-13 ($102,663) level if you possessthe following: your resume must demonstrate at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (IC-12) in the Federal Service.
This experience may have been gained in the federal government, a state or local government, a non-profit organization, the private sector, or as a volunteer; however, your resume must clearly describe at least one year of specialized experience.
Specialized experience for this position includes: Overseeing the work of multiple stakeholders, to include subordinatesengaged in designing, coordinating and delivering disaster recovery strategies;nInterpreting laws, policies, and/or regulations in order to make programmatic determinations; andnDeveloping and/or implementing strategies to improve the execution of disaster efforts for an organization.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
