This graduate research associate position is generously offered by the Duke-UNICEF Innovation Accelerator (DUIA) at the Duke Innovation and Entrepreneurship Initiative (Duke I&E) as a summer appointment for the 2020 summer term.
The DUIA summer research associate will support and contribute to scholarship and research programming throughout their appointment, which may include: â Research regional value chains & available funding streams for supply chains in East Africa â Participate in project management and project meetings â Support the planning and execution of DUIA events including skill building webinars, in-person â Create tools and find resources to support the commercialization of Duke-UNICEF Innovation Accelerator products â Research and conduct an ecosystem analysis of health-focused/women’s health NGOs in East Africa â Other tasks as assigned COMPENSATION In addition to access to the resources at Duke I&E, this research associate position is compensated.
APPOINTMENT TIMELINE This appointment is flexible, but preferred from June 1 - July 31.
QUALIFICATIONS Candidates must have a demonstrated proficiency in research methods, program evaluation, and/or data science, as well as good project management skills.
Additionally, candidates must have excellent written and oral communication skills; strong organizational and analytical skills; and a demonstrated ability to work independently and remotely, as well as in a team.
Preference will be given to candidates with an interest in social entrepreneurship and/or Menstrual Health & Hygiene.
