Performs a wide variety of Program Management and Operations and Maintenance (O&M) support duties; assists Area Operations Managers with field office operations; Serves as alternate Program Manager for the Safety of Dams (SOD) Program; Oversees the operation and maintenance of water conveyance and flood control structures as part of the core mission.

In addition to meeting the Basic Requirements listed under the Education section, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: applying professional knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques of civil engineering to review reports, scopes of work, independent cost estimates, project specifications, and project drawings to assist with technical analyses; planning, programing, and budgeting design efforts and project execution for wastewater treatment plants; coordinating the development of specifications, installation, operation, and maintenance of a radio communication system; reviewing and updating operations and maintenance project manuals for dams, power plants, flood control structures, levee structures, and/or wastewater treatment plant facilities; assisting in the determination of basic specifications for engineering heavy equipment such as dozers, scrapers, tractors, and/or mowers; and possessing professional knowledge of hydraulic engineering principles, concepts, theories, techniques, and methods to conduct hydrologic studies as they relate to floods, flood control, and reservoir operations.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-11).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.
For the GG-0810-12 grade level, you must meet the specialized experience qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
A Quality Ranking Factor (QRF) is a specific qualification an applicant may possess that would enhance performance in a position.
This position has a Quality Ranking Factor defined as: Possess knowledge of conversational Spanish sufficient to communicate effectively with Mexican government officials.
