This position works under the direct supervision of the Director of Nursing (DON) to provide medical administrative support, facilitating Resident care through documentation of medical information, retrieval, records analysis, record retention/disposition and maintenance of Resident records.
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.Specialized Experience: For the GS-05, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service.
Specialized experience for this position includes:n- Experience with medical terminology, medical records procedures, and techniques to organize resident charts; AND - Reviewing medical records for completeness, consistency, and compliance with regulations.nOR Successful completion of 4 years of education above the high school level.
OR A combination of education and experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position.(Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement.An applicant has 9 months of specialized experience and 75 semester hours of college (15 semester hours beyond the second year and the equivalent of 3 months of specialized experience).
The applicant meets 75 percent of the required experience and 25 percent of the required education.
The applicant meets 100 percent of the requirement for 1 year of specialized experience and is qualified for the position.)In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-5, candidates may be advanced without time restriction to positions up to GS-5 if the position to be filled is no more than two grades above the lowest grade the employee held within the preceding 52 weeks under his or her latest non-temporary competitive appointment.Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
