The Department of Writing & Rhetoric at Colgate University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in public address, beginning fall semester 2022.
The department seeks a colleague who can contribute to the ongoing development of its liberal arts program in rhetoric, writing, and speaking.
Required qualifications: PhD, completed or near completion at the time of hire in rhetoric, communications, or related field; demonstrated experience in teaching public speaking.
Preferred secondary specialties include civic engagement, critical and cultural rhetorics, and/or rhetorics of gender and sexuality.
Experience teaching first-year composition or rhetorical theory is particularly welcome.
Teaching responsibilities for the year consist of five courses, including public speaking as well as courses in the candidate’s area of specialty.
There will be opportunities to teach or develop courses that contribute to the Writing & Rhetoric minor concentration.
