About the Position: *THIS POSITION IS BEING ADVERTISED THROUGH THE DIRECT-HIRE AUTHORITY (DHA) FOR CERTAIN PERSONNEL OF THE DOD WORKFORCE.

*This position is a temporary position not to exceed 120 days with the possibility to be extended up to an additional year, not to exceed a total appointment of 36 months.

*This position will be filled at the WG-03 level only.

Who May Apply: US Citizens Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

There is no specific length of training or experience required.

However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Laborer~ without more than normal supervision.

The ability to perform common Laborer duties to include: the ability to maintain the various public use facilities such as general roads, beaches, trails, picnic and camping areas, parking areas, restrooms, offices, and garages.

The ability to repair fences, assist in mixing concrete by hand or machine and spreads, rolls, and compact material with appropriate tools.

The ability to maintain grounds and buildings, to include cleaning, scraping, and chipping paint, minor repairs and maintenance activities - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Physical Effort: The laborer exerts heavy physical effort in doing such tasks as lifting and moving heavy objects weighing 40 pounds, running power mowers on grades, and pushing heavy loads on a wheelbarrow.

Working Conditions: The incumbent works usually outside and is subjected to all kinds of weather.

Incumbent may be required to work on or near the water where immersion is possible.

Incumbent works around and with moving equipment and is subject to noise and some fumes.

The equipment, tools, and tasks involved at this level frequently require special care to avoid serious injuries
