No assumptions will be made about your experience.nTo qualify for the GS-09 you must meet one of the following requirements described below: 1) To be creditable, this experience must have been for at least one year equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade (GS-07) of the position to be filled.
Examples: performing work related to contract pre-award and/or post-award functions under close review of the supervisor or senior specialist; preparing documents for contracting actions that are clearly defined and precedented; administering contracts for terms of six months or less.
-OR- 2) EDUCATION SUBSTITUTION: You must show that you have master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B.
-OR- 3) COMBINING EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: You may meet qualifications requirement for this position by combining an equivalent amount of specialized experience and appropriate graduate education.
To qualify for GS-1102 positions on the basis of graduate education, graduate education in one or a combination of the following fields is required: accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management.
You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade requirement in accordance with 5 CFR 300.604.
If you are a current Federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must have completed a minimum of 52 weeks at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
