To be considered for the position, you must meet the following qualification requirements.nEducation:nPh.D.
or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.M., if related.nGraduate education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.nORnExperience:nYou must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level in federal service.
To be creditable, this experience must have equipped the applicant with the particular qualifications to perform successfully the duties of the position, and must typically be in or related to the position to be filled.nSome examples of this qualifying experience are: Experience in planning, developing, and directing a medical records program for a health care facility that meets both institutional goals and standards of accrediting agencies.nExperience in evaluating and analyzing the organization and operation of medical records services, including medical records and indexes, and recommending and/or implementing appropriate revisions and modifications.nExperience in assisting medical and administrative staff in evaluating the quality and appropriateness of patient and health care services.
ORnCombination of Education and Experience:nEquivalent combinations of education and experience are qualifying for all grade levels for which both education and experience are acceptable.nANDnSelective Placement Factor:nApplicants applying for this position MUST also possess the following Selective Factor.
In the event you do not possess the Selective Factor, you will be found ineligible for the position.
Applicant must be a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Health Information Technician (RHIT) through the American Health Information Management Association.
NOTE: All applicants must clearly address the Selective Factor in their resume and provide proof of registration by the closing date of the vacancy announcement.nCredit will be given for paid and unpaid experience.
