Joining the Secret Service, Office of Technical Development and Mission Support, Technical Security Division will allow you to conduct and coordinate a variety of highly technical security functions at United States Secret Service facilitiesand field offices worldwide.
This Security Specialist position starts at a salary of $55,204 (GS-11 step 1), with promotion potential to $102,288 (GS-13 step 10).

You qualify for the GS-11 level (starting salary $55,204) if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent tothe GS-09 level performing dutiessuch as: conducting security surveys, coordinating the relocation of secure devices, inspecting and monitoring physical security protective systems.nYou qualify for the GS-12 level (starting salary $66,167) if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent tothe GS-11 level performing dutiessuch as: installing intrusion detection systems, video systems, access control systems, lock and key systems; CBRNE detection and mitigation systems; independently resolving complex security problems; developing and implementing preventative maintenance and sustainment programs for complex security systems.nNational Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience)Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.Time-in-Grade: Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service.
