MWR FACILITY ASSISTANT-FOOD RUNNER

Food Runner/Dishwasher Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: This position has been identified as a developmental position for the purpose of providing employment opportunities to applicants not meeting all the required criteria at the full performance level.

Training will be provided to those selectees, who will be eligible for promotion as they gain the skills for the position.

NA2: Must be 16 years of age.

No previous training or work experience is required.

Must possess the ability to follow simple verbal and written instructions and carry out assigned duties independently.

This position is subject to an irregular tour of duty including seasonal work lasting 1-4 months; evenings, weekends and holidays.

NA3: Must be 18 years of age and meet all qualifications listed above PLUS knowledge of basic cleaning and janitorial techniques and procedures.

Must possess the ability to work with basic equipment, materials and supplies used in maintaining the assigned facility in a clean, sanitary state.

This position is subject to an irregular tour of duty including seasonal work lasting 1-4 months; evenings, weekends and holidays A valid driver’s licensed is preferred.

PHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORKING CONDITIONS Physical activities include, but are not limited to standing, walking, bending, turning, stooping, twisting, reaching, pushing, pulling and light lifting.

Some activities are prolong in nature.

The employee will at times, lift up to 45 pounds unassisted, heavier items are with assistance.

The employee is subject to exposure to extreme temperatures from dishwasher/kitchens and walk-in refrigerators/freezers.

Outside work is subject to a variety of weather conditions.

Working area is subject to noise.

The employee is subject to minor cuts, bruises, burns, and falls.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is issued and used as needed.

If issued, PPE must be work appropriately.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS May be reassigned on an “as needed” basis to other facilities to cover staff shortages or assist with scheduled events.

Food/Beverage Service Facilities: Must obtain a Health Card prior to first day of work.

Afterwards, must successfully pass a Food Handlers Sanitation course, thereafter to be updated and maintained annually.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience.

You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
