This position is located with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Superintendent - Pine Ridge Agency, Facilities, in Pine Ridge, South Dakota.

NOTE:nTRAVEL AND RELOCATION EXPENSES WILL NOT BE AUTHORIZED.

ANY RELOCATION EXPENSES ASSOCIATED WITH REPORTING FOR DUTY WILL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE SELECTED EMPLOYEE.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Job Qualifications System for Trades and Labor Occupations (X-118C, Qualification Standard Handbook) will be used in determining applicants' qualifications.

There is no specific length of training or experience required; however, you must be able to demonstrate through the experience shown in your written resume and your responses to thenOccupational Questionnaire that you possess the competencies to perform the duties of this position without more than normal supervision.

Listed below are the JOB ELEMENTS you will be rated on: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION KNOWLEDGE OF EQUIPMENT, ASSEMBLY, INSTALLATION, REPAIR, ETC.

TECHNICAL PRACTICE KNOWLEDGE OF MATERIALS ABILITY TO INTERPRET INSTRUCTIONS AND SPECIFICATIONS ABILITY TO USE AND MAINTAIN TOOLS AND OPERATE AND MAINTAIN EQUIPMENT AND MEASURING INSTRUMENTS BASIS OF RATING: The first job element is the screen-out element (Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision).

Applicants who do not meet the minimum quality level of experience for this element will be rated ineligible and will receive no further consideration for this position.Applicants will be rated upon the statements in their application/resume and responses to the Occupational Questionnaire.

The Occupational Questionnaire must be completed in order to show skills, abilities, and knowledge under the elements outlined above.

Merit Promotion candidates must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the announcement closing date.

Preference in filling vacancies is given to qualified Indian candidates in accordance with the Indian Preference Act of 1934 (title 25, USC Section 472).
