The incumbent performs Central Sterilization processing duties which include the care, packaging, cleaning, ordering and distributing of items and supplies used in the care for patients in the facility.
The employee will be responsible for meeting established Central Supply and Dental Service standards and policies and for promoting teamwork among co-workers.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:nGS-03 Your resume must demonstrate at least six (6) months of general experience OR 1 year of study that included at least 6 semester hours in courses such as medical supply processing, storage, and distribution; sterile supplies, operating room, and surgical technician courses; or other fields related to the position.
GS-04 Your resume must demonstrate at least six (6) months of general experience and six (6) months of specialized experience.
Examples include: Maintains an inventory of supplies, Orders through the M-system and through outside vendors.
Responsible for all sterilization functions including record keeping.
OR completed 2 years of study that included at least 12 semester hours in courses such as medical supply processing, storage, and distribution; sterile supplies, operating room, and surgical technician courses; or other fields related to the position.
GS-05 Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Care, decontamination, preparation, package, sterilization, storage, order, distribution of patient care supplies, recordkeeping, adherence to policies pertaining to central supply processing, infection control, sterilization methods, equipment testing, providing basic care to patients such as taking temperature, weight, blood pressure, obtaining charts, logging information, answering telephones, scheduling appointments, assisting physicians and/or nurses in patient examination.
OR completed a 4 year course of study above high school leading to a bachelor's degree with course related to the position.
Time In GradenFederal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level.
Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
