You will serve as a MEDICAL SUPPLY TECHNICIAN in the Department of Navy, Naval Medical Command.
This announcement uses the Direct Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service.

For the GS-0640-05, your resume must demonstrate at least one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: Processing, assembling, trouble-shooting, preparing, sterilizing, storing, and issuing sterile and unsterilized medical supplies and equipment.
Or Successful completion of four-year course of study above high school leading to a bachelor's degree with courses directly related to the position/occupation.
For the GS-0640-06, your resume must demonstrate at least one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: Utilizing technical names, general uses and physical characteristics of supplies and equipment, and operating conditions of medical supply items; Carrying out decontamination, cleaning, preparation, sterilization, and storage procedures; AND Utilizing aseptic techniques and operating a washer-sterilizer, ultrasonic instrument cleaners, and gas and stem sterilizers.
Or Successful completion of one half year (9 semester hours) of graduate level education that is directly related to the position being filled.
For the GS-0640-07, your resume must demonstrate at least one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: Determining the appropriate method for decontamination; Removing soil, blood, tissue fragments, body fluids and other contaminants before proceeding with cleaning; AND Utilizing the appropriate equipment to process items.
Or Successful completion of one full year of graduate level education that is directly related to the position being filled.
