The Manager of Software Development is responsible for coordinating, planning, and managing the activities of the application development team.

This position is a key technical resource for development initiatives and required to review and analyze large technical projects.

This individual will manage 10-15 people and be involved with performing annual reviews, coaching, and hiring to fulfill staffing needs.

This individual should be passionate about development and be capable of growing the technical skills of their direct reports.Supervisory responsibilitiesDirectly supervises software developers on their respective scrum teams.

Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, planning and directing work, appraising performance at job functions, addressing complaints and resolving conflicts.

Responsible for directly mentoring software engineers on their technical proficiencies within software developmentEssential FunctionsProven ability to lead software projects to completionAbility to communicate complex business requirements to technical resourcesAbility to communicate technical challenges to non-technical resourcesHire and interview software developersComplete in-depth code reviews on direct reports’ development workIdentify impediments and analyze solutions to remove impedimentsExperience leading cross-functional teamsWorking directly with the Product Owner, ensure that sprint items are completed with high quality and on timeKnowledge and experience with modern web development platforms including .Net, C#, Angular, SQL Server, IIS.
