The Department of the Interior is devoted to protecting and preserving the natural resources of this great nation, including National Parks, Landmarks, and the well-being of communities, including those of Native American, Alaska Natives and affiliated Islanders.

Minimum Qualification Requirements: To qualify for this position you must meet the Specialized Experience for the series to which you are applying.

Specialized Experience GS-12nTo qualify for the GS-12, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service.

Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.

Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience: 1.) Applying emergency management processes and procedures in alignment with broader agency/organization mission.n2.) Explaining, advocating, negotiating and coordinating emergency management processes with diverse groups and individuals.n3.) Applying Continuity of Operations (COOP)/Continuity of Government (COG) planning elements, policies, procedures, and methods.

GS-13nTo qualify for the GS-13, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service.

Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.

Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience: 1.) Providing subject matter expertise in staff planning support, oversight, integration, and prioritization of emergency management programs; as well as, providing training on continuity principles.n2.) Maintaining the policies, procedures and standards that form the foundation of an organization's Continuity Strategy.n3.) Assisting with oversight and program management of Continuity of Operations (COOP)/Continuity of Government (COG) plans, policies, procedures, and postures.

Note: Candidates must meet all specialized experience to be found minimally qualified.
