This experience may have been gained in the federal government, a state or local government, a non-profit organization, the private sector, or as a volunteer; however, your resume must clearly describe at least one year of specialized experience.
Specialized experience for this position includes: Handling politically- or financially-sensitive situations; and Communicating complex programmatic or budgetary information to expert stakeholders including Members of Congress and Congressional Committees; and Independently representing an organization to external audiences regarding appropriations and Congressional activities.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.nNOTE: Qualifications are based on breadth/level of experience.
