This position is located in the Office of the Chief Information Officer, Directorate of Information Technology Operations and Services, Division of Operations, Infrastructure and Cloud Branch.

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.
Such experience is typically gained in the IT field or through the performance of work where the primary concern is IT.nApplicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, GS-13, in the Federal Service.
Specialized experience is defined as Planning, managing, and maintaining IT Infrastructure Operations in a large geographically dispersed environment with centralized Data Center Hosting utilizing Cloud;nManaging, maintaining, and analyzing the use of IT Operating Systems and Infrastructure components such as Storage, Backups, Messaging, Web, Servers, Active Directory, Cloud, Monitoring, etc.nProviding Subject Matter Expertise in the area of IT Infrastructure Virtualization employing Cloud technologies.nProviding direction and expertise in IT Systems and Application Optimization merging business requirements into IT Solutions Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, GS-13, in the Federal Service.
Specialized experience is experience at the subject matter expert level in the design, implementation, monitoring and management in any one or more of these areas; Windows Server and Active Directory, UNIX (Solaris, IBM, RHEL), Database and Middle Tier Services (Oracle, SQL, Java, Cold Fusion, WebSphere, etc..), Messaging including Cloud (Office365), Storage and Backups (Dell, EMC, CommVault), and Cloud Technologies and hosting (AWS, Azure).
The incumbent must have experience in providing technical expertise and leadership in these areas at the mile high level, as well as in depth hands on expertise performing tasks on a daily basis.
Must also have expert level experience in the evaluation, design and implementation of new technologies in these areas, including and all relevant cloud services.
