Joining the Secret Service, Office of the Chief Financial Officer, Financial Management Division, will allow you to serve as Branch Chief performing a range of complex duties and providing technical guidance and advice that is responsible for the administration of the Division’s various financial management activities such as payments, certifying activities, travel payments, and funds transfers.

You qualify for the GS-14 level (starting salary $121,316) if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level performing duties such as: directing and coordinating financial and accounting work to be accomplished by staff members; examining and processing financial source documents for payment; examining and certifying documents for payment including the administration of pre-audit and post-audit processes; and developing and directing the implementation of finance and accounting policies and procedures.nNational Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience)Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.Time-in-Grade: Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service.
