Job Summary The University Residences Special Events Intern coordinates and executes projects related to special events.

 This includes consulting with University partners to determine event objectives and requirements; designing programs and exhibits; coordinating facilities and vendors; creating and managing budgets; developing and executing marketing plans; and handling registration processes.

 Additionally the intern will assist with monitoring all aspects of the event to ensure adherence to university policies and procedures, and compliance with applicable regulations and laws.

Required Qualifications: •    Ability to interact professionally and maintain confidentiality with all levels of personnel including senior leadership, faculty, VIPs, staff, and students •    Ability to coordinate all aspects of planning for multiple events - from general preliminary functions through execution •    Excellent time management skills •    Ability to handle interruptions and balance multiple and varied tasks in a high paced environment •    High level of attention to detail •    Highly motivated individual who will take initiative to solve problems, assume responsibility, and meet deadlines •    Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products Students employed in this role will develop and demonstrate a number of transferable skills essential for future employment success.
