Job Summary This position is charged with supporting the administrative needs of Residential Academic Initiatives. Based on the operational calendar, primary support will at first heavily involve Learning Communities and expand later to overall RAI support. This includes, but is not limited to: service to Learning Community Instructors (approx.
130) including general support and handling questions), as well as arranging meeting rooms and transportation as required; tracking sign-in sheet submission, following up on missing sheets, logging sheets, and tracking individual student participation (includes prior years); and various other data tracking and reporting, as well as updating/management. Additionally, this intern will be charged with representing Residential Academic Initiatives at various campus functions, including Learning Community recruitment opportunities and various campus resource fairs; answering general questions via phone and email; completing arrangements and follow up details with constituents as necessary; and completing projects and tasks as necessary and directed by the supervisor on behalf of Residential Academic Initiatives leadership.
This intern must maintain confidentiality and exhibit professional conduct when handling sensitive personal information, must maintain appropriate security of student information, and will be supervised by the Program Coordinator for Residential Academic Initiatives. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Effectively and professionally communicate among numerous internal and external stakeholders • Strong organizational skills • Able to receive direction • Motivated and able to work independently • Must meet deadlines • Able to work with different computer programs (Word, Powerpoint, Excel,etc) • Must employ strict attention to detail Responsibilities • Efficient and accurate service to Learning Community Instructors and other constituents • Data entry and management in a variety of spreadsheets and databases • Strict adherence to processes, procedures, and policies, as well as communication of such • Front-line/first-contact support of Residential Academic Initiatives programs • Representation of Residential Academic Initiatives in a variety of forums • Significant work tracking, logging, and updating information • Scheduling/arranging transportation, rooms, meetings • Responsive and professional handling of emails and phone calls • Meet frequent deadlines • Provide regular updates to supervisor Time Commitment This is a 10-20 hour/week position. Presence during business hours is required for most aspects of the position and meeting with the supervisor. Some evening/weekend work may be needed.
Work time after business hours must be negotiated and approved by supervisor. Must be a current student at Purdue in good standing Education 0Experience 0FLSA Status Non-Exempt
