Reclamation is seeking a career professional looking for an opportunity to capitalize on their expertise as a Hydrologic Technician.

Duty Location: Yakima, Washington https://www.usbr.gov/pn/about/hr/area-information.html In order to be rated as qualified for this position, the HR Office must be able to determine that you meet the education and/or specialized experience requirement - this information must be clearly supported in the resume.

Specialized experience may include work as a technician or aid in engineering, earth, physical, or natural science, forestry, soil conservation, or surveying; trades or crafts work in maintenance or construction of facilities or equipment related to hydrology; drafting; or construction estimating if it equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position.

To qualify at the GS-07, you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to at least the GS-06 level in federal service having demonstrated experience .

You could otherwise qualify on the basis of Education having one full year of graduate education, if directly related to the work of this position.

You may combine specialized experience and education to meet the minimum qualifications.

Specialized experience is defined as: obtaining flow measurements with current meters and measurement of water levels in two of the following locations (reservoirs, streams, canals, or precipitation gauges).

To qualify at the GS-08, you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to at least the GS-07 level in federal service having demonstrated experience .

You could otherwise qualify on the basis of Education having 1 1/2 years of graduate education, if directly related to the work of this position.

You may combine specialized experience and education to meet the minimum qualifications.

Specialized experience is defined as: computing and processing data used to track and forecast river stages; calculate sediment loads, and determine levels of pollution; or developing climatological and hydrologic data.

To qualify at the GS-09, you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to at least the GS-08 level in federal service having demonstrated experience .

You could otherwise qualify on the basis of Education having 2 years of graduate education or a master's degree directly related to the work of the position.

You may combine specialized experience and education to meet the minimum qualifications.

Specialized experience is defined as: computing and compiling hydrographic data and preparing rating tables and data report on flood stage and discharge, canal diversions and reservoir regulation.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Time-In-Grade: Current career or career-conditional employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower-grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b).

Applicants eligible under the Land Management Workforce Flexibility Act (LMWFA) are not required to meet time-in-grade restrictions in order to be considered.
